Your exact age in years, months and days, the totals, and days until your next birthday.
How your age is calculated
Your age in years, months and days is worked out the way people naturally count it. We start
from your date of birth and count whole years up to the "age as of" date, then the leftover
whole months, then the remaining days. Because months have different lengths, the day count
borrows from the correct number of days in the previous month — so the answer always lines up
with the calendar.
The totals show the same span measured a single way: your entire age expressed only in months,
only in weeks, or only in days. Days until your next birthday counts forward from the "age as
of" date to the next time your birthday comes around (leap-day birthdays roll to the 1st of the
following month in non-leap years).

Frequently Asked Questions
How is my exact age calculated?▼
Your age is counted the way people naturally do it: first the number of whole years from your date of birth up to the 'age as of' date, then the leftover whole months, and finally the remaining days. Because months vary in length, the day count borrows from the correct number of days in the previous month, so the result always lines up with the calendar.
Does it handle leap years correctly?▼
Yes. Every calculation uses real calendar dates, so leap years (and their extra day, 29 February) are counted exactly. If you were born on 29 February, your birthday in a non-leap year is treated as 1 March for the countdown.
What does 'days until your next birthday' mean?▼
It counts forward from the 'age as of' date to the next time your birth day-and-month comes around, and tells you the age you'll turn. If today is your birthday it says so instead of counting to next year.
Why might my age differ by a day from another tool?▼
The 'age as of' field defaults to today according to your own device's date. If your clock or time zone is set differently, 'today' can shift by a day. You can also type any past or future date into that field to work out your age on a specific day.
Is my date of birth kept private?▼
Yes. Everything runs right here in your browser — your dates are never uploaded, sent anywhere or stored. Close the tab and nothing is kept.
