About the Keyword Density Checker
Keyword density measures how often each word or phrase appears relative to your total word count. It's a fast way for writers and SEOs to see what a page is genuinely about, spot repetition, and check that the terms you want to rank for actually show up — without any guesswork. Switch between single words and two- or three-word phrases to see both your broad topics and your specific key phrases.
- There's no ideal percentage. Write for people first; density is a diagnostic, not a target.
- Avoid keyword stuffing — repeating a phrase unnaturally can hurt rankings, not help them.
- Use 2- and 3-word phrases to check long-tail keywords and natural language variations.
- Turn off “remove common words” if you want the raw frequency of every token.
