RRB Railway Exam Photo & Signature Resizer

Railway Recruitment Board applications on the rrbapply portal — Group D (Level 1), NTPC, and the ALP/Technician CBTs — call for a recent colour photograph sized 3.5 × 4.5 cm at 50–100 KB and a signature of 30–49 KB written in cursive with black ink. RRB is stricter than most: it rejects photos in capitals, photos older than three months, and signatures that aren't in the running-hand cursive it demands. This tool crops and compresses your photograph to the 3.5 × 4.5 cm shape and the 50–100 KB band the portal accepts, and the table lists the exact signature limits. Your images stay on your device and are never uploaded to us.

RRB commonly requires a 3.5 × 4.5 cm photo at 50–100 KB and a cursive black-ink signature at 30–49 KB; some fields accept a 15–40 KB photo. Sizes vary by RRB notice — confirm on rrbapply.gov.in. Official source ↗ · Checked 2026-07

Good to know

  • Photo is sized to a 3.5 × 4.5 cm portrait ratio and compressed into the 50–100 KB range rrbapply expects (some fields accept a smaller 15–40 KB variant — check your notice).
  • Signature target is 30–49 KB — sign in running cursive with black ink on white paper, then run the scan through the tool to land under 49 KB.
  • RRB wants a recent photo (usually taken within the last three months) with a plain light background — retake rather than reuse an old passport photo if in doubt.
  • Flattens transparency onto white and encodes JPEG, so a signature scan stays clean black-on-white.
  • Runs fully in your browser — nothing uploaded, no account, no watermark.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the RRB photo and signature size limits?
For most RRB CBTs the photograph should be 3.5 × 4.5 cm at 50–100 KB and the signature 30–49 KB in black-ink cursive. Some form fields accept a smaller photo variant (around 15–40 KB). Exact figures change per notification, so verify on rrbapply / the official RRB advertisement.
Which RRB exams does this cover — Group D, NTPC, ALP?
Yes to all three. Group D (Level 1), NTPC (graduate and under-graduate posts) and ALP/Technician recruitments are submitted through the same rrbapply portal with the same photo and signature specifications, so this tool applies to each of them.
Why does RRB reject my signature?
RRB specifically wants a signature in running cursive handwriting with black ink — block capitals or a printed name are rejected. Sign naturally in cursive on white paper, scan it, and compress the scan here to the 30–49 KB window.
My RRB photo is too old — does that matter?
It can. RRB generally asks for a recent colour photograph, commonly one taken within the last three months, on a plain light background. If your photo is older or has a busy background, take a fresh one before resizing it here.
Is my RRB photo or signature uploaded to a server?
No. All cropping and compression happen locally in your browser, so your photograph and signature never leave your device.
