SSC Photo & Signature Resizer (20–50 KB)

SSC's OTR and exam application portals (CGL, CHSL, MTS, GD Constable) reject a photo unless it is between 20 KB and 50 KB and a signature unless it is between 10 KB and 20 KB — two of the most common reasons an SSC form fails at the upload step. This tool resizes and compresses your scanned photo to land inside the 20–50 KB window in one click, and the spec table below lists the matching signature limits so both files pass. Your photo and signature are processed on your device and never uploaded to us.

Good to know

  • Photo output is capped under 50 KB — inside SSC's required 20–50 KB range.
  • Sizes the photo to a portrait 200 × 230 px, close to the passport-style ratio SSC expects.
  • Signature guidance (10–20 KB) is listed below; run your signature scan through the tool a second time to hit that window.
  • Encodes JPEG and flattens any transparency onto white, so a scanned signature stays crisp and black-on-white.
  • Runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded, no account, no watermark.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the SSC photo and signature size limits?
For most SSC exams (CGL, CHSL, MTS, GD) the scanned photograph must be a JPEG between 20 KB and 50 KB, and the signature a JPEG between 10 KB and 20 KB. This tool caps the photo under 50 KB; re-run it on your signature scan to bring that under 20 KB.
My SSC photo keeps getting rejected — why?
The usual causes are a file outside the 20–50 KB range or the wrong shape. Resizing to a portrait ~200×230 px and compressing under 50 KB, as this tool does, fixes the size problems. SSC also wants a recent colour photo with your name and date printed below it for some exams, so check the current notice.
Can I resize the signature here too?
Yes. The embedded tool is tuned for the photo, but you can drop your signature image in as well — just aim for the 10–20 KB signature window shown in the table. Scan the signature in black ink on white paper for the cleanest result.
Is my photo or signature uploaded anywhere?
No. All resizing and compression happen on a canvas in your browser, so neither your photo nor your signature ever leaves your device.
