About rounding image corners
This tool clips your picture to a rounded rectangle drawn on an HTML canvas, so the four
sharp corners become soft curves — perfect for avatars, app icons, product thumbnails, cards and social
posts. The radius is applied at full resolution, so the result stays crisp at any size. Because the
corners are cut away, they need to be transparent — that only works in a format that
supports transparency, which is why PNG is the default and the recommended choice. If you
pick JPEG (which can't be transparent) the corners are simply filled with a background
colour of your choosing instead.
🔒
Private by design. Everything happens right here in your browser. Your image is never uploaded — we never see it.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I round the corners of an image?▼
Drag the radius slider until the corners look the way you want, or tap a preset like Soft, Rounded or Full. The preview shows the result live on a checkerboard so you can see the transparency.
Will the rounded corners actually be see-through?▼
Yes, if you save as PNG. The corners are cut out to real transparency, so the image sits cleanly on any background.
What if I want a solid background instead?▼
Save as JPEG and pick a background colour. JPEG can't be transparent, so the rounded corners are filled with the colour you choose.
How round can the corners get?▼
All the way to a full pill or circle. The Full preset rounds each corner to the maximum, which makes a square image into a circle.
Does it change my image size or quality?▼
No. The image keeps its original width and height — only the corners are trimmed away — so the picture stays sharp.
Is my image uploaded to a server?▼
No. Everything runs entirely in your browser on your own device — nothing is uploaded and we never see your image.
