About the delivery challan generator

A delivery challan is the document that travels with goods when they move without a tax invoice — for job work, samples, branch transfers, goods on approval or line sales. This free tool builds a clean, professional challan with your consignor and consignee details, an itemised list with HSN/SAC and quantities, the vehicle number and the purpose of the movement. Everything is rendered right in your browser, so your details and logo are never uploaded.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a delivery challan?
A delivery challan (also called a goods delivery note or dispatch challan) is a document that accompanies goods when they are moved from one place to another. It records what is being sent, how much, to whom and why — for example a supply, goods sent for job work, a sample, or line sales. Under India's GST rules it is used for movements that are not, or not yet, a taxable sale.
When do I use a challan instead of a tax invoice?
Use a tax invoice when the movement is a sale on which GST is charged. Use a delivery challan when goods move without a sale value being invoiced — such as goods sent for job work, on approval, as free samples, for line/retail sales from a vehicle, or between your own branches. If the movement later becomes a sale, you raise the invoice then.
Does a delivery challan need to show values, and is it taxable?
A challan itself does not levy tax the way an invoice does. Many challans list only the goods and quantities, so this tool keeps values off by default. When a value is needed — for example goods sent for job work — turn on Include values to add a rate and amount per line and a total. GST is still accounted for on the eventual tax invoice, not on the challan.
What are the purpose options for?
The Purpose field records why the goods are moving — Supply, Job work, Not for sale, Sample, Line sales or Others. It appears on the challan so anyone checking the consignment (or the recipient) understands the nature of the movement at a glance.
Is my data private?
Yes. The challan is built entirely in your browser — the party details, item list and even your logo never leave your device. Nothing is uploaded to any server, and the PDF is generated locally.
