About the payment receipt generator

A payment receipt acknowledges that money was received. This free tool builds a tidy, professional receipt recording who paid, the amount in figures (and words for the rupee), what the payment was for, and how it was made — by cash, UPI, cheque, card or bank transfer. It defaults to the Indian rupee with Indian-style digit grouping and also supports the dollar, euro and pound. Everything is generated in your browser, so your figures and logo are never uploaded.

  • Use Towards to note the purpose — for example “against Invoice #INV-001” or an advance.
  • Rupee receipts print the amount in words automatically, using Indian numbering.

Is a payment receipt valid proof of payment? ▼
Yes. A receipt that records who paid, the amount, the date, the purpose and how it was paid is commonly accepted as evidence that money changed hands — for cash, UPI, cheque, card or bank transfer. For a formal tax invoice with GST, use a proper invoice; a receipt simply acknowledges the payment. Keep a copy for your own records too.
Does it show the amount in words? ▼
When you choose the rupee (₹), the receipt automatically prints the amount in words using Indian numbering — for example “Rupees Five Thousand Only.” Amounts in dollars, euros or pounds are shown in figures only.
Is my data private? ▼
