About Trim Video

Trim Video cuts a clip down to a start–end range, entirely in your browser. Fast mode copies the video and audio streams straight through without re-encoding, so it finishes almost instantly and keeps the original quality — the only catch is that the cut snaps to the nearest keyframe, so the start can land a fraction of a second early. Precise mode re-encodes the selected range with H.264 for a frame-exact cut and saves it as an MP4; it's slower, especially for longer clips. It all happens on your device, with nothing uploaded. Larger files take a little longer, and you can cancel anytime.

🔒

Private by design. Your video is read and trimmed right here in your browser — never uploaded, never seen by us. Nothing you add is ever uploaded.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I set which part to keep?
Type a start and end time in seconds. The tool keeps everything between those two points and drops the rest.
What's the difference between Fast and Precise mode?
Fast mode cuts without re-encoding, so it's almost instant and keeps the original quality — but the start snaps to the nearest keyframe and can land a fraction of a second early. Precise mode re-encodes for a frame-exact cut and saves as an MP4; it's slower but lands exactly where you asked.
Which mode should I use?
Use Fast mode for a quick cut where being a moment early doesn't matter. Switch to Precise when you need the cut to start on an exact frame.
Which video formats work?
You can drop in common video files like MP4, WEBM, MOV, MKV and AVI. Fast mode keeps the original format; Precise mode saves the result as an MP4.
Fast mode couldn't cut my file — what now?
Some videos don't copy cleanly in Fast mode. Turn on Precise cut and try again — re-encoding is more reliable, just slower.
Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No. Your video never leaves your device — it's trimmed entirely in your browser, and nothing is uploaded to any server.
